Information and services
for concerned citizens

Both during the project planning stage and in its implementation, considerable attention was given to ensuring that the people of Zwentendorf and its surrounding would be fully informed. Long before the location was chosen, EVN entered into an open and intense information exchange with the population – with the result that the poll organised by the local government found no less than 74% of the citizens in favour of the project.
EVN manages its information drive at several levels:
'Bürger Info', a newsletter published by EVN as a key information medium to report regularly on the progress of the project, which is now informing its readers about the plant’s operation.
> A citizens board instituted by the local council of Zwentendorf has from its establishment acted as liaison to the population and key contact point for EVN.
> Practising the principle of openness, EVN has set up a visitor and information centre at the plant. Visitors can take a specially designed route where they get a close look at the whole operation without any risk of injury to themselves and are even offered a spectacular view of the garbage bunker and boiler house.
> Guided tours are offered to interested visitors.
> Ever since the plant has been up and running, constantly updated data on the quality of the cleaned flue gas are available online on the Internet.
