Staff

The thermal waste utilisation plant run by EVN at Zwentendorf employs 75 highly specialised staff.

The plant is operated in five shifts of six staff each. In addition, EVN Abfallverwertung NÖ is employing engineering teams for its various sectors: boiler room, flue gas treatment, logistics, electrics, controls & instruments, mechanics, metal works, mechanical services, etc.; as well as two shifts of eight staff each to handle the waste deliveries.

The plant is operated round the clock on a year-round basis.

The considerable interest that the know-how accumulated by EVN Abfallverwertung NÖ has attracted world-wide has led to staff members getting an opportunity to work abroad on a temporary or permanent basis. EVN strives to guarantee the same quality of planning, design, construction and operation for each location. In order to achieve this goal, operating staff from other plants are trained and their performance is probed and scrutinised by staff from EVN Abfallverwertung NÖ. In addition, third-party staff undergo training courses directly at the Zwentendorf facility, with the result that the experience and overall know-how gained by EVN Abfallverwertung NÖ is spreading to ever greater circles. Several staff members who had been working at Zwentendorf until the plant was completed are now living and working as expats in Moscow.
