Approval notice for Line 3
is final and absolute

Late in May 2007, EVN Abfallverwertung NÖ was served the official approval notice, permitting it to start works on a third line for its thermal waste utilisation plant at Zwentendorf/Dürnrohr. This notice became final and absolute in early June 2007, and the first construction works have already begun.

Following an in-depth environmental impact assessment procedure, the competent authority of the Lower Austrian Government proceeded at full thrust and great depth to issue the notice regarding the extension of the EVN plant. EVN Abfallverwertung NÖ had filed the project with the Lower Austrian Government on 31 May 2006, and the approval notice was issued less than a year later, on 24 April 2007. With no objections filed against it, it has become final and absolute and EVN Abfallverwertung NÖ is permitted to start on its Line 3 extension.

Just as was the case for the first two lines of EVN Abfallverwertung NÖ, this was, naturally, preceded by a full-scale environmental impact assessment for the envisaged extension project. In the course of this assessment, the government authority instructed 20 official experts to examine the project in all its details. In the notice now issued, the authority specified, in similar detail, the operating conditions to be complied with by EVN Abfallverwertung NÖ in order to retain its licence.
