5–8 pm: Open day and tours of the plant. Visitors are guided along a safe route from the entrance gate to the panorama lift and visitors catwalk, from where the bunker and cranes can be seen, to the info centre at the top floor, where they are shown a 3D film. Returning by lift or staircase to the ground floor, they circumvent the plant. After a glimpse into the open flap of the garbage bunker in the truck unloading shed, they pass along the automated container crane delivery station, the railway tracks to the garbage delivery point and the slag halls, where they can view the boiler and flue gas cleaning area. At the end of the tour, visitors are awaited by an ÖBB show car and can hop onto a Hector engine.
