New visitor gallery opened
in March 2010

Concurrent with the construction of the third line, the visitor gallery was extended, redesigned and opened in March 2010 to guided tours for all comers.

The visitor entrance area was rearranged, as was the tour across the plant. A panorama lift takes visitors to the top of the plant where they can enjoy a great view of Zwentendorf and its industrial buildings. They also get a view of a garbage and furnace tunnel, the 30,000 m³ waste bunker and the boiler house with its three 40-metre furnaces. A more theoretical grounding is provided by films about the construction of the plant, a detailed plant chart and films of all the plant’s components, as well as displays showing the background of the project. Also on view are films, photographs, facts and figures about the infrastructure projects implemented by EVN Umwelt in 14 countries in Central, Eastern and South-eastern Europe. For further fun and information, visitors can view 3D films about the plant at the Info Centre and participate in the Waste Quiz.
